“It was amazing how you could get so far from where you’d planned, and yet find it was exactly where you needed to be.”

Ever had everything planned so perfectly & then nothing went as expected? Do you try & do this with your life? I have to say I’m definitely a planner… I just love to be organized & know what’s going to happen so I can be prepared. However at 35 years old & rarely seeing any of my plans work out how I expected, I’ve started to realize maybe I should just stop planning!

I thought right out of college I’d find a career I loved, get married & have kids shortly after. Instead I worked at a few different companies in my j.o.b. and got married at 27. We were married for 6 years before we had our daughter & I still don’t love my career. But what I learned over the last 15 years, is that I wouldn’t change any of my “failing” plans because it made me stronger, more determined, more compassionate & helped me discover the road I’m on now.

There were roads I went on that I would never choose to do over again, however I thank God every day I had to endure them because I learned so much along the way. I’m glad my plans didn’t work out because His plan is always better!

Here’s the thing, there really is nothing wrong with planning if it makes you feel better. The catch is, you must be flexible if your plans change. And usually when you look back, maybe even years later, you will see there was a reason things did or did not go according to plan.

Being married to my entrepreneur husband, I have seen this over & over. I know God hand-picked us for each other because my background & career decisions have directly corresponded to where he was headed. And watching his growth has inspired me to go for my dreams & passions. It amazes me when I look back & see how God really did have everything planned out perfectly. I should have just sat back, enjoyed the ride & stopped stressing!

Every day I continue to work on doing this! Let go & let God! I know with him leading my road is going to be AMAZING!
